Sometimes when im driving at like 80-90mph I often start seeing my pathfinder start to tremble and shake. Feels like I'm losing gravitional pull. However I see all these videos of pulling doing donuts and stuff in the desert or snow with their pathfinder.

Do you think its easier for pathys to flip over?

I'm same as fueler. . I also slide around in the rain. If you put it sideways on dry pavement at a given speed, it would totally flip over though.

Could it be rear bushings?

What do you thinks could be the problem then? and something is wrong with my brakes too. They dont feel as strong as they used to be. I checked the brake fluid, its fine. I got this car in 04 and it only has 10k mileage. I can't understand why a car that is been barely driven for 4 years have these problems

The rear bushing problem is only on 1996-1998 If the R50 in his signature is the one with the problem, its probably not bushings but i would still check out all the suspension, make sure the struts arent leaking or bouncing

80-90 is pretty fast. Have your tire balance checked. It's easy and if a shop won't do it for free, it should be like $10 per tire

we just did a tire rotation. I can't believe this because this car was only used for like grocery shopping until a year ago.

Could it be that we used the car for moving heavy load, it affected the suspension, I dorm at college so I have move in all my stuff into the dorm and out of the dorm after the year is over. You know like tv, microven and all that stuff. Basically the car gets very loaded with mass quantity.

Idk if that should do something, i mean its a SUV, its made for stuff like this. Soon we will do a oil change, do you guys know what i should tell the mechanic for exactly to look for?

someone mentioned the strut bar.

Have them check the suspension, alignment, tire balance. I didn't get my tires rotated for about 9000 miles and it's a little funny. I also drive over some of the crappiest paved roads in the country so that doesn't help. But I know what you're talking about. I can see the steering wheel wiggle at high speeds.

Does it pull to either side when you let go of the steering wheel? If so, a balance and alignment is definitely necessary.

before i put my tires on it my pathy was stable up to 100-110...now it sucks in the snow with the 31x10.5x15's on there....but def check out the suspension. my moms 98 suuucks! the rear control arm bushings had to be replaced, the suspension had to be replaced and tires too. all that happened after she put the tow hitch on and towed around a little lawnmower trailer...and my quad before i got mine. but mine never had a single problem...and i offroad it almost every day stock suspension. Im waiting on my 2 inch spring lift to come in so i can slap some 33's on there. let me know.

Then DEFINITELY keep your speed down until you get to a tire store and get your wheels balanced and aligned. Have them double check it after they balance and align it. I had to have the same tire store get mine rebalance and align it twice when I bought mine from the puky little used car dealer. They totally farked up my wheels when they put the "NEW" cheap tires on.

That should fix it. If it doesn't and the tire store swears on the mother's grave the tires and alignment are perfect then you may need new tires all together or possibly need the rear sway bar replaced and/or rear bushings replaced.

But like Fueler says, it's most likely that yours is not that span of years with that problem. Most likely it's the tires.

I rolled my 98 SE about 4 months ago... landed right on the roof in a ditch after hydroplaning and spinning backwards. Make sure you got good quality rubber under ya, i had great tires on but they weren't rated for the kinda weather i was driving through...People always procrastinate spending 6 or 700 dollars on good tires but if i had done that originally it woulda saved me the 4000$ repair bill (that was at cost at my uncle's shop too..) AND i went and spent 800$ on some good tires anyways, shoulda just done that before......

i worked at a tire shop and i had a few pathfinders come in for tires. i found the cooper discoverer ATR's are the best ive seen. and they are in a good price too. roughly about 450-500 for all 4 mounted balanced everything. the thing about balancing the alloys on the newer 99-04 models, is that you have to use a special cone to center the rim on the machine. some of the tire shops in my area dont know the secret and they F it up. the center circle isnt really center at all...and therefore many places don't balance the tires correctly. so make sure you tell them especially if you have the 5 spoke? rims with the little dishes in the spokes. pain in the *** but if done correctly, no problems should come about.

Yeah, I run those Cooper tires. They ROCK!

Haven't tried them in snow yet, but everything else has been great for a tire that's pretty quiet on the highways and still gives you pretty good traction in sand, dirt, mud and rocks.

P.S. Also good in wet weather!

Speaking of quiet, my mud terrains are so loud that they make me crazy

The window visors make it even worse

I remember how quiet the Qx4 used to be..... but theres nothing like rippin up some deep snow in 2wd while Toyotas with 35" all terrains are struggling (also in 2wd)..... puts a huge smile on my face and i forget about the noise
