I have several posts on this in the general forum but thought it might be helpful to post a summary here in the Pathfinder specific forum...
Essentially, if you are on the search for a better priced official extended warranty (Vehicle Service Contract) then I recommend going through Jim Bone Nissan --- you can do so from anywhere in the Country and save a few hundred dollars on an official Nissan warranty --- not a third party warranty that many dealerships try to pass along.
I kept seeing references to Jim Bone online but could find little feedback as to the process, etc. You find them online here www.NissansrExtendedServiceContracts.com ... I'd recommend registering with your email to be able to check out the prices, then and give it a day or two and you'll start to get some follow-up form emails from the dealership... I wound up getting a $200 discount code (off a warranty of $1,000 or more) which was huge... They offer 0% financing for 18-months, but if you pay all upfront you avoid tax. Also, depending on when you bought your car, and if it's considered "new" or "pre-owned," you may have to get a dealer inspection completed for a small fee (As I had just purchased my car when I bought the warranty I was able to use the Certified Pre-Owned Checklist instead)... Anyway, once you purchase online they'll UPS you some docs for signature and the process moves quick from there... Ashley was really great to work with, just have some patience, and a littler persistence, as she is inundated.
Bottom line, for my CPO 2015 Pathfinder with 35,000 miles, I purchased the Security+ Gold, 6 year/80,000 mile "Pre-Owned" extended VSC package for $1,615 w/a $100 deductible... Since it was the "Pre-owned" (as opposed to "new") product I am covered for 6 years/80,000 miles from date of VSC purchase... As the regular Nissan "Certified" warranty really only covers power-train issues for 7/100 from the original in-service date, and as I usually keep cars for a long time, I am very happy to have this level and length of coverage.
I checked with my local dealer and everything is in the system as planned... GOOD LUCK.
