So, I've had fuses blowing left and right for a while cig lighter sockets... then I thought the mechanic solved it. Suddenly, it started blowing again, but this time I narrowed the issue to my bluetooth headset charger (which I rarely use).

Of course, while that was happening, I had headlights blow out on me three times (in something like 8 months) before I decided to get a HID kit.

I got the HID kit almost three months ago, it (eventually) turned out one bulb was goofy, blink out twice in the first two months, from then till now it got worse. Today, that goofy bulb is completely unusable (aka, dead). Not even a flicker.

Last week, because I was expecting EXACTLY that the goofy HID bulb would die on me, I ordered a replacement HID kit (in case the ballast was bad too).

Guess what?

The bulbs in the new HID kit are slightly incompatible with the current kit, the connector for the electromagnets were different (can't change from low to high). While it wasn't expected, it's not surprising. What was surprising was the fact that the needed wiring harness was for an H13 headlight system, not the PF's H4.

Knowing I couldn't do anything with the new HID kit and just before it started getting dark, I swapped out my HID kit into old bulbs I had... and drove for most of the night fine... but wouldn't you know it... when I went to move the PF to park on a side street (off the main street), a bulb blew out.

UPDATE: Bought a pair of standard 9003 bulbs (no HID look, or even brighter, just plain)... went to install it, turns out, the bulb DIDN'T blow out. yay.

Instead, the problem was, the socket melted. double yay.

I think it's because of the bulb I put. It's a crappy bulb that is supposed to light up blue. The problem is, it burns hotter to partially make up for the blue filter dimming the light.

Now, I have to replace the socket. I need an oil change, so I'm debating whether or not to let the mechanic deal with it and while he changes the oil...
