Measured my front brake rotors today at 26.187 mm thick. ('01.0 Path LE 2WD)
FSM says 'rotor repair limit' is 26.00 mm. Mine do not need 'repair' but now I'm wondering about replacement.

While I wait for wheel bearing parts I couldn't find a chart or specs that might show how thick new rotors start their life.
I'm clueless as to how fast rotors wear, under typical city daily driver use, or if 26.187 mm to 26.00 mm is fine for a while. The .187 mm difference is only 7 thousandths and seems skimpy.

That's only about 0.007" left and a typical cut takes off 0.004~0.005" on each side. Time to replace them along with the next set of pads.

That's exactly what I was wondering - thanks. (ugh, more parts more work, more tools (tools -Yea!)

I don't know what kind of pads are on there now but I never see brake dust on rims which is nice. Any pad type / brand recommendations? Are rotor brands pretty much equal, anything to avoid?
Started watching some videos and see that you should always clean / lubricate the sliding caliper pins as well(?)

btw - How do you know so much about these cars?

I've been using bargain basement ceramics for decades without any issues, but rotors are a different story. Cheap ones often warp and die prematurely from flaws in the castings. I've never seen any issues with Power Stop, one of our Altimas has a drill & slot set from Rock Auto and I have several happy customers using them. Yes, you should lube the pins every time and make sure they slide freely.

Follow up -

Purchased Power Stop daily driver. Working well. Measured new rotor thickness out of curiosity - 28mm.
