What brand of fuel and what octane do you usually use? Do you feel any differences?

I have never used anything other than the highest available octane, usually 91, but 94 at Sunoco stations. My car still runs like new and I've never had a problem with it.

Sorry, but didn't we beat this topic to death about a month or two ago?Check some earlier threads and you'll find lots of opinions.Personally, I run regular gas with no problems in my '02 Pathy.

I compared 91 with 87 not only on my 02 QX4 but also on my previous 94 Altima and 96 Maxima, and found no difference. Now I always use 87.

My 97 240sx said "For optimal performance, use premium"(inside fuel door)

NO difference at all. . I figured it was just a 2.4 4cyl truck engine anyway. . really, there was no gain at all in either performance or mpg.

Yeah, this topic's been beat to death a couple of times.

To put it simply, octane is not a measure of energy in the gasoline. It's a measure of the gasoline's volatility, i.e. at what compression the gasoline will self detonate.

Try this link:http://auto.howstuffworks.com/question90.htm

So save yourself some money and buy regular. You only need premium if the manual says you need it or if you know you need it. If you don't know why you would need premium (or higher) octane, you don't need it.

That's why I read somewhere that Octane is like shoes. It's not the bigger the better. whatever the size fits the foot is the good one.

However, most user's manuals say "for better performance..." Maybe with a meter we will see the difference? I don't care if there IS a difference on the meter reading. It's not worth the extra money.
