The spare tire in my Pathfinder is hold in place (under the vehicle) by the chain system and two special rubber pads which are located at the frame in the front side of the tire when it is in position. As I got the truck used I can't be sure if a third rubber was originally present in the rear (bumper) side of the wheel. I believe that weird noises related with braking are due small spare movements despite of the tyre being firmly hold by the chain (frsh mirror like zones are present in the rim). Can any of you look under yor Pathy and tell me about the third rubber in the rear bumper frame?. I got no information from the Nissan representative.Thanks.

I've only seen two when I lowered mine down!

just tighten the chain even more, until you hear no more squeaking.
