okay, i'm going to canada in the 23rd of June and my passport is expired. I went to the passport place and they said that i will be getting my renewed passport in 5 to 6 weeks, which is too late. I'm going there via automobile, so i was thinking i don't need a passport to cross the canadian border and come back to the U.S. right? I don't want to renew my passport because if i do the fast processing, it'll cost me an extra 60 bucks, which will total $115.

So i was wondering if i can cross the border and back without a passport? Is there an alternative to the passport? maybe a driver's license or something?

All you need is a drivers license, I went to Canada buncha times without a Passport.

All you need is a drivers license and some other piece of ID. I go down to the States from Canada all the time and I have no Passport.

Drivers license and some other form of ID. My family's been to Canada (the falls) a bunch of times and they don't hassle us. Just make sure you don't bring any of the ganja back or bp is gonna tear you a new butthole. (Heard that one the news last night, they're inspecting more and more because of people smuggling mari-ju-wana).

yeah I went to Montreal last spring and all I needed was my licence too... they didnt even check my ID going into canada, lol
