Passing emmisions in Atlanta Georgia with a rb20det in my s13??????????

I will be moving to Georgia soon and my car will need to pass emissions testing in the Atlanta area. Has anyone had to deal with situation?

Passed in NC with rb20det in s13. I guess it depends on where you get it inspected. The second place I went to was absolutely fine with the engine swap but the first place was anal about my intake filter being not stock. Just go where you think you could pass. Emissions was cake. I had mine tuned with SAFC II on the dyno but I am sure it would pass without tuning and just a FPR. My engine passed with flying colors even better than my stock integra. I would be more worried about the actual inspection.~ANDREW~

thanks, i plan i getting my car tuned next week end. I think i will just save data for a lean tune to use for emissions testing.

Just tune it regular it will be fine I promise it will pass the emissions part. I would be more worried about the actual inspection. I wouldn't do a lean tune just tune like you would normally. It will pass. ~ANDREW~

just make sure you have a cat. They inspect for it.

You have to remember, GA is not like California. They onlydo the actual emmissions test, and that is it. They probe your exhaust with a meter, put your car on the rollers, inspect for a cat, and that is it.

They do not check for any signs of modifications, stuff not being stock, etc etc etc. As long as you have a cat on there, you should be good. Make sure that you drive the car around for at least 20 minutes before you test....

Please note that they only stick it on the rollers if it is 95 or older. Anything else must pass the OBDII emission test which consists of them plugging into your ecu. And there is no way to opt out of that.

This is true in NC also but some places will be anal about aftermarket stuff like the first place I went. It is true that these engines are illegal in our cars I just saying sometimes places wont pass it but you should be able to find one that will.~ANDREW~
