I have an issue on my 2000 I30. When I use the auto-up feature on the passenger window, the window goes all the way up, then pops back down a few inches and stops. If you hold the window switch up, then when it's at the top, engage the window lock, release the window switch, then disengage it, the window stays up just fine. The dealership said they've tried to adjust the window motor timing (?) twice and it didn't work, and now they're recommending a motor replacement at $400+. Somehow I doubt the issue is the motor. Anyone seen this problem, and know the fix? Is it something I could fix myself?

Thanks in advance.

Were you able to find the reset switch Iguanaman? I am having some trouble finding mine.

Not sure what is meant by" Remove the whole switch panel (in which the door pull handle sits) "

Does that mean to pop the power window switch finisher that all of the window controls are sitting in? I have a 2000 I30 also, but my problem window is on the drivers side

A quick way to "deal" with it is hold the auto up button for 5 seconds..you will hear a very slight beep. This ONLY keeps it up then, but does not solve the problem. It looks like you have to do the process described to actually fix it. Bright programming Nissan/Infinity! We can get the window down 4" by ourselves we dont need a program to do it! Just so it can malfunction on soooo many of your cars.

old post, but was a current problem for me 2000 i30. This is the safety auto reverse that reverses the window. The 5 second hold doesn't seem to work for me when it's misbehaving. Will look into the "reset"? soln. above.
Mean time, if it's raining, use the non-auto mode" to raise the window. Raise the switch only until the window starts to move. It will stop at any point you let go. Works going down as well (yes, it believe it was in the owners manual).

Yes it is called the anti pinch function that will keep the window from rolling all the way up when something is in the way.
You may have the reset procedure in the manual for it.

The problem is on the window motor. Replace the motor

OEM window regulator is $90, I think you can get the same at Oreilleys for about $50
I would start there

To me the motor seems like it is ok
