Hiya guys.

I've got a weird problem with my '11 coupe. About a year ago the UP switch for the passenger window stopped working on the driver's side so I had to reach over and use the passenger side. Now the passenger side quit working. The window goes down just fine with both. I just took the door panel off and jumped the motor with 12v to get it up...so the motor works. I find it hard to believe that both window switches failed in exactly the same manner. Everything else works fine on the switches.

Is there a relay somewhere that controls the motor? I noticed that the motor only has two pins so something has to determine the polarity between the switch and the motor. I believe that would be the culprit, but I cannot figure out where that happens.

Anyone have any idea?

Thank you.

Much less elaborate than everything you've tried, but if you haven't I'd give these steps a shot, it resets the power windows. You'll have to give the motor a jump again, but it might be worth it.

1. Push the ignition switch to the ON position.
2. Close the door.
3. Open the window more than halfway by operating the power window switch.
4. Pull the power window switch and hold it to close the window, and then hold the switch for more than 3 seconds after the window is closed completely.
5. Release the power window switch. Operate the window by automatic function to confirm the initialization is complete.
6. Perform steps 2 through 5 above for other windows.

Jumping the motor and keeping 12v on it once up will probably damage it. By default the motor stops trying when a certain resistance is accomplished. And electric motors cannot be programmed. I believe that procedure is for the auto up feature.

If anyone has an electrical diagram of the switch assembly OR the wires to it, I'd be able to rule out two equally faulty switches.

is your car still under warranty from nissan? I thought they offered 5 year warranties. If so, let them deal with it. If not, the search continues.

I bought it certified used. I've only got a powertrain warranty.
