My now ex girlfriend and I bad a huge argument...... she gets out takes both hands and slams my door like "the hulk" ... knowing how I feel about my car....... the door opens halfway as if its stuck from frame damage but theres none.....and the window would go down halfway and stop as if something is in the way.... I had to pretty much force the door close..... and when opening the door it creaks .... do I have to go to the stealership for this? Anyone please belp

First thing I'd check is the striker on the door jamb. It's really hard to move without unbolting though. Then check the latch on the door lock. Lock, unlock then pull the handle while it is still open and try shutting it again to see if that makes a difference.

Btw, what exactly do you mean by "door opens halfway"?

the door itself would open but not extend all the way out as if something was stopping it

I checked the door strap and tightened up the screws now the door fully opens and closes... not as smoothly tho ... im guessing ill have to replace that eventually....

I took the door panel off and felt the window motor and its just extremely hot.... and I didn't even try using it before.... im guessing thats the problem? As far as the window not going up or down...

Oh I see. In that case, disregard what I said. I assumed she slammed it and now it won't shut.

About the window motor being hot, that usually happens when its jammed and you keep operating the switch(which you say you didn't). Have you tried operating the motor disconnected from the regulator to see if it still runs for a decent amount of time? Also check to see if somehow the regulator was not mating right with the motor teeth. Damn, this girl really got you where it hurts.

I'd suggest being nice to your girl. Next time you may find it's your head between the door and the frame  ah women..

I know man... I actually got slapped before she slammed the door..... didnt hurt as much as my door........... I took the entire door apart today.... first time ever doing something like this .... .....the cord for the door regular got frayed a bit so it wasnt winding up on the the spool..."best way I know to describe it"... so Its looks like I just need to order a new regular... thanks for all the replies fellas.... with this forum and a little elbo grease we can save alot of $$$ working on these cars...

Sorry if I found this thread amusing. Heehee.

Between "the hulk" and "now ex" and "could be your head next time" and "slap hurt less" I think there's a lot of good material on here in only one page..

Glad you found the problem though. Can you not just resolder the frayed wire? Or at least splice in new wire for the frayed section? Without having to actually replace the motor or any modules? Pictures?
