After 9 months of ownership my passenger side airbag light has come on and won't go out. I have had NO previous problems with this light prior to now. Any suggestions?

Thanks!

Take it to the dealer, that's what I would do.

Have you unplugged the light? Even if you didn't you'll need to bring it in to be reset.

Do you have something rather heavy sitting in the seat?

I keep my CD case on my passenger seat and it's heavy enough to trigger the airbag override thing

I didn't think of that. Also, the seat has a bladder in it that helps determine the the bag should shut off. If anything's gone wrong with the bladder or electrical connection, then you can experience what's going on.

I don't have anything on the seat. I have done that so I know it will light up in that circumstance. I will take it back to the dealer.

I had this problem within the first month of ownership. I was told there was something wrong with the passenger side seat belt tensioner. They replaced the part, and I've had no other problems since.

I kept seeing the airbag light near the spedometer on and the airbag light on the dash stay on after flashing. I took it to the dealership a few times before they figured out the problem. Since that time, they told me it seems to be a common problem.

Good luck.
