The passenger side airbag cover, the one on top, the cover keeps coming off a bit.

The portion closest to the front of the car and the center console lifts up a bit and it's a little worring. Does this happen for anyone else?

I know someone on here reported this, but I have no clue where the thread went.

Have your dealer fix it for you. It's under warranty, it will be free.

This seems to be another fairly common issue. Fortunately, it looks like electech got his fixed and looking fine, so it's not going to be a major issue:

Mine too. I stuck part of a zip tie in the gap to hold it a little more in place, so it's not sticking up so high. I'm going to give hte dealers a few months ot catch up and see if any more serious warranty issues arise before I take it in.

Mine was delivered this way a month ago, and yesterday they gave me an expected ship date for the part of another three weeks out...

I have the same exact problem. I popped out the center panel to try and pop it back in, but apparently this panel works differently; instead of popping into place, it's glued in with weird tabs. It looks like the glue melted and therefore the panel rose. I'm getting my first service in about a week, so I'm going to try and make them fix it.

I have been waiting since 9/10/2006 for my replacement panel. The dealer says they are on back order until the beginning of November and there has been over two hundred problems with the cover reported so far.

Thanks....haven't had THIS problem.......YET!!

Just curious....I noticed your panel is Charcoal. I've got the Beige interior. Could the color be causing the panel to absorb more heat and then warp or melt those 'special tabs' Jemdawg talked about.

I'll keep an eye on it though.......

Thanks for the shots so I'll know what to watch for.

Mine was like that the day I got it, not sure how much it sat outside at the dealer and got hot or what. So I can't say if that is it.

Yeah, It has happened to mine. I've had the Versa for 1 month now. Car is great, but it's a hassle to keep taking it in. They have replaced the airbag cover once, and it did it again. It took 4 weeks for the first airbag replacement to come in. I don't want to wait another 4 weeks for another... but i guess I have to. It's all under warranty, but my time isn't free... i guess I'm a little irritated about it...

Mine looks exactly the same problem as in that picture and my interior is Beige.

dang...there goes that theory....

I guess I'll just keep my fingers crossed....already have the TPMS problem, don't need another....(and the idea about the little piece of tape to cover the light is the best fix yet for that one)

Just had mine fixed this morning, after waiting about 5 weeks. They replaced the entire airbag assembly, saying it was a single unit. Took about 30 minutes.

This dealer hasn't seen the problem on any other Versas, or the TPMS problem, either. (Luckily, I haven't had the TPMS prblem.) I'm hoping, for my sake, they don't see any more of either!

You just jinxed yourself, you'll get the TPMS bug within a 1000 miles now.

Well, I've now gone over 1200 miles since the air bag replacement, and not only does the air bag cover still look good, but I STILL don't have the TPMS bug. (We'll now see if I can tempt the fates by mentioning it twice!)

Noticed the same thing on my Versa. A raised passenger airbag cover. As they told me there is no "repair" and they ordered a completely new airbag for the passenger side...Glad its under warranty.

Now it's been about 4800 miles since the first air bag replacement, and the new cover now has the same problem. (9000 miles total.) But still no TPMS light or other problems.

Of course, the dealer wants to look at it before even ordering another air bag, so another few days until they order plus another 5 weeks waiting for the part...

My dealer told me they have had several cars with airbag cover problems (including mine). I was told by them that it is a defective clip and they said they replaced it with a better part. (Not sure if I believe them yet). I had to wait several weeks to get it and when I called to check up on it I was told it would be "four months" longer. When I complained they "found" one that someone else had "not picked up yet." When I called Nissan about the problem, they said they had no record of any recall or problem reported on the airbags on Versas. I highly suggest everyone who has or has had this problem call Nissan 1-800-NIS-SAN1 and file a complaint so that it is on record and the issue gets addressed. Airbags are a serious safety component and they need to be installed properly with parts that don't pop up!

I have also had problems with the tire pressure warning light and cannot adjust the driver's side seat. I was told it would be four months before a new track would be available for the seat. I am still fighting this issue. If they are making cars, then parts ARE out there. Even though I like the Versa, the customer service has been lousy.

I agree. Nissan should know about any problems that these cars are having. There may be tons of people out there that may have the same problem as you, but it's so small that neither you or the dealer reports it. The more people that complain about any issue, the more likely a recall will be issued and problems at the factory could be solved.
