Passenger seat adjustment problem

My son playing with the controls adjusted the passenger seat to lay all the way back. While doing this something popped. Now the back of the seat will not return to original position. It remains at an incline as a incline bench would be. The seat motor still operates in all positions and the back will go down but just won't return all the way up. What is the deal .

Went out to the Q a moment ago and the seat back went up just a little more . It's as if long breaks between attempts help. I'll try again in the morning.
