passenger's side headlight doesn't work?????

i noticed it would turn on and off occasionally.. then one day it just died. i've replaced the headlight, but still nothing... is there an fuse or relay that i should check? what is connected to the headlight? i recently replaced the TCU to get my dash lights to work, i have a '90 SE fastback. thanks.

i guess i should have been more clear... the headlight does go up and down, but the bulb doesn't come on. i just checked all the fuses and relays and everything seems fine. when i turn on the lights, it pops up and everything, but only the driver's side bulb comes on. and when i turn the brights on, the passenger's side comes on and the driver's side goes off!! i don't understand it. the guy who owned the car before me tried to install an alarm and sound system and i think he may have done something to the electrical system. i've already fixed most of the electrical problems, just this one remains.. oh and another thing, when i hit the button instead of turning the stem, the headlights go up and down about 8 times before it stops. they just flip up and down like some crazy paddle.. what could this be? thanks.

Its probably the light switch on the steering column. Take off the steering cover (top and bottom), disconnect the switch, and remove the screws holding it on. You will have to take it apart and clean and slightly bend the contacts inside for better contact, then put it back together. I have to do this about every 6 months or so. Its always the passenger side that quits.

If you do a search, I told someone else how to do this in more detail a few months back. I'd find the thread for you but I'm about out of time right now. If I have time later I will try to find it and post the link.

i replaced the whole stem on the steering column with a new one, and voila !! it works !! i guess i could have just cleaned the connections on the old one, but i had a spare stem, so i just put it on. thanks a lot for you help..!!

if you can find that link, it would be a HUGE help. I have this problem, (silvia lights, though) but it is the same exact thing. drivers comes on normal, passenger off. pull brights, and the passenger comes on but the drivers goes off! LINK? i tried to search but could find your post.
