After finishing classes for the day i get back to my car and try to start it up. No luck. w/o the key in the ignition and the door closed i've got the cel, seatbelt and ebrake lights on so i realize something is wrong with the electrical. Now i cant get the key out. Then i try jumping the car. As soon as the circuit is completed smoke starts to rise out of the passenger fender. The thick bundle of wire is rubbed raw, it was really hard to tell in the dark but maybe 3 or more wires are bare? Now I'm back at the house (got a ride) and trying to figure out what to do. Anyone think of a possible "quick fix" solution to get the car home so i don't have to work in 10º weather at night?

Ouch, this happened to me. I just quickly fixed the wires and taped them up til I could get home to a heated garage, then it was a long process after that. -.-

No quick fix, Cut, splice solder heat shrink, replace fuses and relay if you burned them up. Then remove the fenders and pull the wires up and tuck them.

Thanks for the quick replies. Hopefully i'll get lucky and the damaged wires won't be detrimental to startup so i can get this back to the garage to fix.

Yeah I got super lucky and they weren't terrible. But I did have to end up doing what Outtowin did and cut, solder, and heat shrink then tuck. It's not a fun process.
