I am in the process of redoing my 95 240sx. The passenger door will not unlock either electrically or manually. I can't seem to take the interior panel off as the screws that hold it on are located on the Rocker Panel and not accessable. Does anyone have any ideas or a trick to being able to remove the door panel without screwing it up.

Thanks

sounds like it is really messed up--the key will not work???--there are two arms that go to the lock one going to the lock cylinder and the other going to the manual inside door lock. has this car been in a wreck or is this out of the blue?

No Just happened "out of the blue". Key turns, etc. The lever inside does not seem to want to go to the open position - only half way. I am hoping someone will be able to tell me how to access the inner workings of the door without demolishing the trim.

Thanks

im thinking one of your rods came off somehow.i wish i could take a picture of the door. but when you pull the handle, this rod pushes down on the lock assembly. if you had something strong enough that will fit down in the door, maybe you can find it and unlock it. its toward the back of the door and kinda in the middle. it would be weird that a rod would just come off over time, but good luck.

Thanks for taking the time to answer this. I found the problem but had to trash the interior panel. There are some colored clips that the rods connect to and apparently the one that controls the electric lock wore out. It would have been difficult to open without damaging anything unless you could trip that portion of the mechnism. Hope this helps someone else....

Thanks

I had my lock mechanism break, and the tip to getting your door panel off an S14 is to take out the drivers seat, remove all screws out of it, and start working it lose wiggeling it, be rough but not too rough, it will come out.
