passenger door locks but isn't locked

Hello,

My passenger side door locks automatically and manually. The little lock handle moves to unlocked / locked position fine. However when you go and try to open the door when it is susposed to be locked it opens fine. Sometimes it sets the alarm off sometimes it doesn't.

Any possible solutions? Kinda sucks having 1 door that never locks now

Your actuator rod may be busted - simple lil part, but a biatch to get at. Here's some background info from past threads:

Forgot to add that the door opens fine and that the key spins around a near 360 degrees in the lock.

Probably the same mechanism

A good clue. Read through that second thread carefully - lots of detail there - might be able to figure out exactly what's broken.

hmm yes I will take door panel off if it stops snowing sometime today
