I hope someone can help me. I own a 2005 Murano SL and my automatic passenger door lock all of the sudden stopped working. I found out that the passenger door is connected somehow to the rear lift gate. If the door is locked, the liftgate is also and if it's unlocked, then you can open the lift gate.

Anyways, I sent my car in for service at a local repair shop whom I've used for many years. He ordered a new passenger actuator from the nissan dealer. Here's the wierd part. When the new acutator was put in, the passenger door locks and unlocks with the key fob but the rear liftgate won't open at all! If he put the original actuator back, then I have the same problem with the door not automatically locking but at least I can open the liftgate.

Using the lock/unlock buttons on the driver and passenger doors won't lock the passenger door either.

Does anyone have any suggestions? I am lost.

I also own a 2005 Murano, mine is an SE. Both the passenger and driver side doors will not lock automatically when i press either the button on the keyless entry or on the door itself. Also, the passenger side door has to be unlocked in order to open the liftgate. I haven't taken it to the shop yet but intend on soon.

I have 64,000 miles on this car and just today i noticed it making a slight popping sound when i turn the car to the right....I am sooo fed up with this car. The driver side visor will not stay in place when down to block the sun and the CD player will not play when it is cold outside in the mornings. I paid over $30,000 for this???

Do you know what we can do to see about getting any of these ongoing things considered for a recall?

I dont think these things will ever become a recall. My suggestion to you is to call Nissan and complain about your problems. They may cover it for you even though you are out of warrenty.

And to the original poster, if your car is under warrenty still you should take it to a dealership and get it fixed free.
