Passenger airbag light

When there is no passenger does the light on the center console supposed to stay illuminated. I have seen some older post about a problem with the passenger airbag and some have had to have the seat replaced. If I press on the seat the light comes on then goes out, is this normal?

The light will turn on only if there is someone lighter sitting (Kids) or light weight person.

I had the same issue about 6 months ago. When I took it in for an oil change they fixed it for me. They stated it had something to do with the wiring. No extra wait on my end and no issues since.
