Alright.. I was working on installing my in-dash nav yesterday. Haha.. I dropped a stupid screw. I had to reach down and find it as I didn't want it rattling around. As a Versa owner, I have enough rattle. As I reached down trying to find the screw, part of my body must have touched the front panel with the passenger airbag and emergency button.

I heard a little snap. The passenger airbag indicator popped out of its frame.. but nothing came unplugged. I snapped it back in right away, but now I'm left with no light.

Anybody else this lucky? I've read that it'll cost in the neighborhood of $100 for Nissan to reset it..

Thanks!

If your pulled out the whole airbag light assembly without unplugging it then you don't have to worry about setting a code. It is only when you unplug the light from the car that a code will be set.

Simple way to see if it still works.

Start car and place a small load on the passenger seat, something around 15-25 lb's and the light should come on and when you remove the load it should go back off.

Or just start car, and bounce in the seat

Yeah, thanks guys. False alarm! I guess I never pay attention to the light being off when there's nothing on the seat. It works perfectly, even after taking the dash off 3 times. It just snapped out of its frame. I feel stupid but relieved..

Lesson..It is OK to pull the light out of its frame, but whatever you do, don't pull it of its plug.
