i got a check engine light last night so i took my car to the dealership today and they are going to look at it and they also said the passenger airbag sensor recall and are going to fix that too. i know there were a couple threads before about the recall but i don't remember anyone actually having there dealership try and fix it. so ya, the dealerships are fixing the passenger air bag sensor now

lol now i feel stupid. 1st i put the wrong title (air back instead of air bag lol) and then the reason why my check engine light was on is becuase i didn't tightly close my gas cap when putting gas last lol dealer said $115 to look at the car and if its covered under warranty it'll just be free. so ya, i should be paying $115 but the lady said she can bring it down to just $60.

oh ya and they said there was nothing wrong with my sensor which is BS cuz it randomly comes on and off when no ones in the passenger seat. i told her that and she said she has a 2004 350Z and it does the same, just the way the car is or something like that

dude that's bs - they shouldn't charge you anything to do a diagnostic - when this happened to me I was supposed to bring it in for an oil change and they just looked at it then...you should not be charged that much for a simple diagnostic...

ya i was pissed that it was $115 just to have them look at it but i ended up paying like $60. but still, $60 because i forgot to screw the cap on all the way is stupid. you can go to kragens or autozone and use there machine for free and it would have told me that

I just took my car in for an oil change and asked about the passenger side air bag service bulletin and they told me that they do not have the parts yet to do the fix and to wait for a letter from Nissan.

Anyone else get more info? Anyone get this fixed, with/without a letter?

I'm guessing if it's a service bulletin they won't send letters, but if it's a recall they will.

Sounds like it's a service bulletin though and my dealer is FOS.

ya when i asked about it they said they don't think they have the parts in but then they looked in the computer and said they do........ also they called it a recall not a service bulletin.

I was supposed to take my car to the dealership about 2 weeks ago, but i couldnt get out of work.

They said they were going to fix the airbag deal. I would have been pissed if i got there and they told me they didnt have the part.

My light game on about a year ago last January (I had bought the car for right before Christmas). The dealership had actually ordered the part for me, and when it came in they only needed my car for a couple hours. Case in point once the dealer gets in the part its not that bad, just make sure not to get in any kinda fender bender with someone in the passenger seat for the time being.
