Passanger Door lock button stuck in the middle

My 1993 J30 passenger door lock is stuck in the middle, if i press it in all the way and try to open the door it pops back out to the middle, if I open it all the way and try to open the door it pops back to the middle. The door won't open either way. I can only open the door with the key. Can someone give me ideas on how to fix it or what it might be?

I'm a new J30 owner. The car also has these problems
