Passanger airbag light not working??

My passenger airbag sensor light does the same thing wether someone is sitting in the passenger seat or not. It lights up for a few seconds and then turns off... is this normal??

It is normal. The only time it will remain lit is when you place an object that weights less than a supposed weight of an adult passenger (ex - very heavy grocery bag).

From what the manual says, this is normal. If there's no one in the seat, the light will not stay lit and the air bag will not be deployed. If there's someone sitting there over 80lbs I believe, the light will go off, but the bag will deploy. If someone less than 80lbs is in the seat, the light will stay illuminate to notify you that the airbags will not deploy.
