ok, well im goin to start buying up some parts this month, got a get a few parts straight.

pistons- can they take 300-350hp, this isnt daily driven but a street, track race purpose car from now on its my fun car i dont care if i blow it up after this

piston rings- ordinary from a Ca18et or ca18de will these hold up to the boost levels. 10-20psi? or should i find somthing better and if so where.

piston squirters should they be replaced? if so where can i get new ones??

crankshaft- i may just buy a new one if mines scored up, will the DE or ET crank work?

knife edging the crank good idea or bad?????????

rod and main bearings- thinkin about using OEM ones, but i really want some clevite performance bearings

head bolts- from ARP- for a DE will work correct

i have a engine builder already lined up , he just charged my supra friend 700-800 to rebuild his block this included labor and all parts reusing the pistons and rods. it looks good, i just want to get everything lined up and know all the info i can before i goto him to talk to him about him working on my block that way he knows i know my stuff and wont skimp on my motor

hey man seeing as how I am in the middle of this, I'll try and help

pistons- I'd just keep the stockers if your not going for super high HP.

piston rings- I'd look into getting a decent set of steel or chromoly rings, they should hold up to boost levels into the high teens/low 20's with proper tuning

piston oil squiters- where can you buy replacements?? I may b e in the market for some. I cannot see replacing them, just clean the hell out of the oil galleys

crankshaft- the ET crank WILL NOT fit! however I am pretty sure a DE will. The ET crank has a different front snout and the DOHC timing belt sprocket will not fit on it. also, the oil pump will not fit on it.

kinfe edgine may be a good idea on a CA, seeing as how they like to rev. Knife edgine is generally done to cranks that will see an areodynamic gains from it, i.e. those in high RPM applications. its your call tho.

bearings? check these guys outbearings check these guys out. they look slick as hell! they also make a HI-PO oil pump.

as far as teh rod and head studs, I think ARP's for the DE motor will work just fine. ask MovinVIolation. I think he was running stock DE rod bolts up to 9krpm with no probs

hope this helped

its kind of ironic because the TOGA people say their bearing are best suited for high HP high REV applications but yet their warranty does not apply for race motors... now who in the world with a high HP car would buy TOGA performance bearings and not race their car? Unless they mean full out race like 1000+hp draggers or endurance races.... then in that case i'll just shut my mouth. :D

they mean *real* race motors...like on race cars (ie. not street driven 240's like we have);)
