I have a '96 I30 - trying to find part numbers for O2 sensors and knock sensor... anyone have that info and can recommend a good place to purchase. did a search and seems as though there are tons of generic universal parts out there, but a bit uncomfortable just buying something unless it's really going to work. Is dealer the best bet?

TIA for your help.

The best place to buy OEM is from one of our sponsors, IoS which sells parts at 25% off MSRP., Enter your model user year and then go to Emission Control and look for O2 and Knock Sensors ($125-142)

http://www.infinitipartsusa.com

For O2 sensors and spark plugs, "sparkplugs.com," offers lower rate but you should know exactly which O2 sensor you need. They have a selection of NGJ, Denso and Bosch O2 sensors ($70 more or less). If you know how to splice wires and match wire color-coding, then universal O2 sensors may work for you (@ $50). Verify whether you need a 3-wire or 4-wire O2 sensor and if possible, the cable lenght before you order on line. BTW, the Knock Sensor and O2 Sensor must be handled with care.

My pleasure to help. BTW, an O2 sensor adapter (@ $10) and PB Blaster/WD-40 come in handy during removal and don't forget to apply anti-seize compound on the O2 sensor thread before installation.
