Sorry I know these kind of threads are kind of stupid, but I just want to make sure I have everything I want and need. I will be ordering the following parts next month for my s14-s14 SR swap. I want a really clean, durable and reliable setup, but some of it might be a little extraneous. Any feedback is appreciated. Here's the shopping list:

S14 BlacktopAlready have Nismo mountsAlready have Tomei fuel pumpAlready have Nismo stainless clutchlineAlready have Blitz Nur Spec R exhaustHKS or Blitz single plate clutch w/ flywheelNismo slave cylinder?Koyo or GP Sports aluminum radiatorSilicone Radiator hosesNismo colder thermostat (I live in the desert)Blitz or HKS stainless mesh air filter (very dusty here-element needs frequent cleaning)Blitz LM FMICBlitz DownpipeStraight pipeBlitz BOV kit incl. hotpipeTrust O2 Extension/turbo outletSVR Slim batteryHyper Ground cablesHeat range 7 Spark plugsPower Ent. beltsZ32 Fuel filterBoost controller- Profec B? Maybe Blitz SBC DC?Blitz FATTGreddy Boost Gauge

This is just to do along with the swap, later I will add a Grex oil pan(assuming the stock one is okay when I get the engine), EGT and A/F gauges, simple fuel controller like SAFC. Am I forgeting any major parts? Should I skip/switch my priorities on anything? If any of you SR swap veterans have input, please let me know. Thanks!

since you live "in the desert" a oil cooler and relocation kit might be worth the investment. Also, since your doing fuel managment you should get some bigger injectors, tomei 550cc are pretty inexpensive for the flow rating.

it moves the location of the oil filter, because its hard to reach, this is being discussed right now in another forum.

JSpectuner: Yeah, i was thinking about getting those eventually, especially the relocation kit. But do you really think i will need an oil cooler? Or are you just suggesting it because it will be easier to install at the time of installing the engine and FMIC? I will not be upgrading the turbo anytime soon, so I think the stock 370cc injectors should be okay at 12psi for the time being. Or would I be pushing them a bit too much? Could I really tune the SAFC for 550cc injectors? Seems like I would be maxing out the adjustment just to get the 550cc to work right. In any event, I am not tuning the fuel system for awhile. This is the "along with engine installation list."

I don't think the nismo slave cylinder is necessary. It's a pretty spendy unit. But I think everything else will work fine.

Yeah, you might be right about that. I thought it might be a good precaution since my present clutch pedal return is a little mushy and vague. Wasn't sure if that might help. Replacing/Upgrading the clutch, flywheel, line will probably take care of most of that. Thanks Ace

personally I would add the Greddy (trust/Grex/whatever :)) oilpan first ( I did) It is a really high quality unit and it isn't all that expensive. I have some pics of it in my photo album in my sig if you want to check it out...

If you live in a really dusty area, stay away from the HKS and other foam type aircleaners. They are more porous than your typical K&N filter. With a K&N, it just needs to be cleaned and oiled every once in a while.

If you are staying with the stock turbo, the stock injectors are just fine.

If you're considering getting an oilpan, get it now. Otherwise, it will be much harder to get at once you have the engine in the car and everything all wired up.

Phax, thanks for the facts! I said I specifically want the stainless mesh air filter, but thanks for the reinforcement of what seems to make sense. The gauze K&N type one I have now on my Injen is not all that sturdy and has also broken down/separated a bit. Yeah, I think I'll take you guys' advice on the oil pan.

What do we know about stainless mesh air filters? I like that they seem durable compared to an oiled gauze/loose mesh and can be rinsed out with water. but do they filter well?
