Parts interchange question

OK i went to get injector o rings. The ones off of my SR20 were round like doughnuts. When I went to nissan and asked for 95 z rings they pulled out these cylindrical ones (shaped like a little bitty role of masking tape almost)

I asked them to pull out some from the sentra GXE with the SR20 and those looked a lot more like what i needed so i got them instead.

I also ordered the 87 z o2 sensor and the plug is all wrong. It has the wires in a sort of L configuration where my SR20 harness has the wires flat across the plug.

Anyone else have these issues?

IIRC...

The Z sensor needs to be cut and soldered to your existing plug, but the wires match up and it bolts into the o2 extension just fine.

Also, does a Sentra GXE have an SR20? Seems to me you should be getting O rings from a 91 B13 SE-R, but I could be wrong.

crap i was thinking of the 98 00 sentra se my bad... but whatever i got them out of they are the same as the sr20 ones i *think*.

They look the same at least... I'll have to go check again.

Still have the problem of the Z ones just being plain different tho. Could my motor have come from japan with the wrong o rings?

look at my thread on SR parts interchangability. OR take the O-rings to Autozone and match them up with the loose rings they have floating around the store. That's what I did for mine anyhow.

BTW some of the Z32's used a toally different injector design (even though they look the same)

The o=rings from the z-32 are interchangeable with the sr20det. If you get the TT z-32 they are too big. Get the 0-rings from the NA motor that was pu in the z-32. I got a set of 6. So now i have 2 left over.. Just in case

as for as the o2 sensor i got mine out of an 86-87 maximum dont know what engine but it was exactly the same. plugged right in.

interesting... thanks for the info guys... I tried my sentra ones and tore 2 of them putting them in. I was pretty careful but i coulda been a little nicer to them.

I'm going to buy at least 3 sets from different cars and see whitch ones work the best(at all)...

The parts interchange section says to use that O2 sensor but it doesn't plug in to my sr harness...

Do some people have a flat plug and some people have a square plug on their SR O2 sensors?
