parts interchangability from the 300 zx and ADVISE???

Any j30 heads out there have any advice for me? I just bought a 97. I got a good deal as it was a bank repo, but it needs some parts and fixes. It seems 300 zx parts are more ready availble and half the price, IE power stearing pump, water pump, alternator, etc. Are these the same? How about a 5 speed transmission? Also, I read a few posts that say the rear struts from a Maxima will fit. Can anyone varify this for sure? Any advise for maximizing efficiency and performance? Also the chip under the driver dash the "fail safe" does not work, someone bypassed it with a wire so that it will start. What other functions does this do? I am also not getting power to the audio? Any help would greatly be appreciated! I am new here to this club!!! Yea! Lance

Engine parts can be interchangable, the TB's are a different diameter IF you had a earlier T model the PS pump is the same as a TTZ32 do to the HICAS but yours doesn't have that. I don't know what to tell you about the wire but the radio could be a fuse or the radio itself. When I got mine the radio would work just none of the lights in it would work so I just replaced it.
