Ok. When I am not dodging IEDs and such, I am planning, sourcing, and aquiring parts to hook up my S13. In a few months, I plan on being back in Naples, spending time turning wrenches at the auto hobby shop on base.

My problem is that, turbo manifolds are plentiful from SSAC, but not so much from anywhere else. The ones I have seen are usually based in Australia, New Zealand, or UK. Most of them are work out to cost in excess of $600 and much more with the exchange rate and VAT (taxes). Then I am looking at shipping to either an APO/FPO or Italy, which is usually more than the continental US, HI, PR, and AK.

I have already picked up:FMICHKS SSQ BOVZ32 MAF

I am ordering:Walbro 255 lbs/hr FPNISMO FPR and bracketFuel filter ????HD Stage 3 chipFPBig28 upgradeTurbo timerEBCClutch

What are you guys running? I know Megan Racing is an option, but maybe I am missing the links for the CA. I mean if I have to stay with the stock manifold (I'm not paying an arm and a leg for a mani), I may end up swapping the KA from my S14 into it and going KA-T. Then also the injectors are a problem . If I cant get the 444cc injectors, then I may as well try to take another upgrade path, if any at all. Sorry guys I am just a little frustrated. I know the almighy NICO can bing me back on course yet again. Thanks

Rob

I really do feel that SSAC got their problems sorted out. I've been running their manifold daily for 2 years now with out a problem.

As for the injectors, can't you get those form Horsham's as well as the chip?

True, but their customer service still sucks..........and their CA bottom mount headers aren't perfect. You have to grind the edge off of one of the valve cover bolt holes, grind off one of the studs on the head thats holds on the mani (or replace with shorter stud), and the biggest thing for me I couldn't mount my a/c compressor, because it didn't clear the compressor housing. I never got around to fitting everything with the engine in the car, but it looked like it placed the turbo slightly lower, so I would bet some mods might have to be done for your existing downpipe to line up correctly. Now their top mount headers might be ok.......but I dunno In anycase, I'll never buy from them again......just my .02 cents

Because they come with a lifetime warranty now, but the only way to get in contact with them is via email, which they don't seem to respond to.Another scenario is when they send you the wrong part, they take several weeks to send you the correct one.

fuel filter, just get something big. a z32 twin turbo unit will be fine. injectors are low impedance top feed. you can use some out of a mitsubishi 2l turbo (eclipse turbo, evo, etc.). the stock manifold is fantastic and unless you plan on making a ton of power itll do you proud. check out our sponsors and stuff, they offer lots of the parts you need.

Thanks for the tidbits. I think I may be able to come up with the things that I need to do the HD Stage III setup. Now I just gotta work on stopping power and suspension (I have it all planned out, just gotta order parts). As far a brakes, if I go Z32 up front, can I:

1. Leave the rear stock?2. Move the stock fronts to the rear?3. Continue to use the same MC?

Or should I just fork out the doe and get a WilWood kit? Even then, I will still need a stronger MC to beat the mushy pedal right? By the way, what do you think about this http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISA...h=015.<offtopic>Is there anyone in Europe in the forum? I am planning a Euro-trip with some of my friends when we get back from Afganistan. I would be very interested in meeting some fellow S-Chassis bretheren.</offtopic>

Thanks again guys.

Hey roplusbee where in Europe do you plan on going? I am here in Germany, on the weekends I am pretty close to Ramstein Air Base.

Some of the folks here are hit and miss with the SSAC stuff. I had to do exactly what one member described. I had to grind down my falve cover and still didnt' like the fitment as it was pretty close to the block. I opted to keep the stocker. however I am pretty stock right now as I sold the last CA project.

Be Safe

I am beginning to seriously consider building CA manifolds. I have all the tools, I just don't have a CA/s13 to prototype on...

If I did start building them, what do you guys think would be a reasonable price for them? I obviously couldn't compete with SSAC, but I agree that +/- $600 is too much for a non custom manifold. Let me know what you guys think.

I personally would think that $300-$400 would be pretty fair.

What part of Colorado are you in? If you're in the eastern half, and would be willing to put my wife and I up while we were there, you'd be more than welcome to use my car.....

I feel you on the mani. I don't like the idea of ginding anything down, specifically something that should be "bolt-on".

Bwana:

If I could lend you my ride to develop on, I would. Unfortunately, it's in Europe. I would pay for a good custom job if I had/knew someone to do it for me. Hell, I would get a bunch of exhaust stuff done, as well as a new intake plenum. But hey, we'll see what happens.

ragenasian:

I am stationed in Naples, Italy. We plan on stopping in Germany for a bit during out trip. I think we were going to hit up K-town, which is pretty close to Ramstein. I'll be sure to post when we are going to be in the area. Or I could shoot you a email closer to trip time. Cool.
