I'm trying to buy some new brake pads for my 1996 240sx, but am running into some difficulties. Apparently, half way through the year they redesigned the brake pads or calipers, so there is two different brake pads for the same year. My problem is now determing what part of the year in 1996 my 240sx was made. My 240 has no ABS and is 5 lug. I suppose I could just take off a brake pad and measure the dimensions, but thats extra work I could avoid. I've searched and searched, and found nothing so far. I've also looked at the FSM, and the VIN number details nothing about when in the year it was made. I'd appreciate any help, Thanks!

The date the car was produced is located on the label in the door jamb.

well, i looked in the door jam on the drivers and passenger sides, and found nothing. No label at all. I looked in the engine bay too, and also looked at the label under the compartment in the console center. Any other places to look?
