Part of plug boot stuck

I was replacing my plugs today with some shiny NGKs when I realized I couldn't seat the socket on the plug in the #2 cylinder--I was doing this in the dark so I couldn't see very well.. I got a flashlight and poked it down there to see a ring of rubber around the plug--look at the rest of the boot and realize it's missing the very tip.

Ok, well that's all fine and dandy, but how do I get the rest of it out!?

I'm probably going to get like a 10" flathead and try to pry it out unless someone gives me a better suggestion.

So suggest!
