I am having a problem with the part number for the ECU in my car.

Infiniti, at the parts place, says that the number is 2371-H-008 for my car the Base model 2000. The Vin # is JNKBY 31 A 1 YM 700817

The used part system, country wide, has 2371-H-005, 006, 01 ? NO 008 !

I cannot find the Nissan/Infiniti part numbers on the net after lotsa searching. I am just assuming that the numbers are no-where published for the common folk?

I have not resolved the no start problem yet. I am not sure that the ECU is the problem.

I am trying to purchase a used ECU. They are rare but are available and not expensive.

Thanks IA

Rich, how have you been? It's been a while. What is the part # on the unit you have?

Hiya podner.

I emailed the Infiniti place in AZ and they gave me another "Nissan/Infiniti" number that might work. 23710-3-H 008. It's supposed to be the numba for the ECU installed in my car.

The used parts places have the numbers but could not match what I had. Actually I was given "2371-3-H 008" short one zero.

I don't guess that Nissan/Infinity part numbas are published for the general public to access. I spent hours searching to no avail.

I really don't like calling dealers parts places for numbers.

Honda/Acura dealers have their car parts numbers available to all and sundryand really easy to find and quick.

Maybe Nissan sells their part numbas list ? ? ?

How you been? Runnin' da boat is once again cheep cheep heh?

Catch ya lata. Jack

My bet would be that the one zero short is just a ''clerical error''. Having said that I realize it's not my$ or my auto. I found a parts # catalouge copied from a rebuilders. It's not comprehensive and it's to a G50. Sorry I'm no more help.

Let me check with a couple of people I know. I'll get back to you.

I've actually sold the charter biz and moved aboard my CC 38 Catalina. Still, at 30 gph up on top and in the corner it's kinda pricey. Short runs out to the reef is about all. Gonna go 90 miles south this coming summer but will operate as fast trawler. That;s 10gph. BIG BIG dif.

I went to work for a quasi gov. agency. They fly me around in Bell helos. Will be in NOLA for the 2009 jazz fest. Lemme know if you might be in NOLA around then. Got a girl friend across the Ponchatrain.

Me again Rich. I looked on ebay and they have a parts identifier for your model.

The item is # 380086663345. It is from bessiesbooks, the same seller I bought mine from. I do not know if will have your ECU # but this is still something you will refer to often. I misspoke when I said they were copies. They are not. They are originals pulled from a rebuilders manual. Of course th e$ figures will be WAY off but still I have found mine to be invaluable. Best of luck.

Thanks for the help.

Bessiebooks is closed as in outta business.

I am closing in on the numbas. I am trying to find the right unit and the Infiniti numbers seem to have been consolidated into one last number 008.

I just want to be sure since I'm going to buy the unit from some seller somewhere in the country. I have a lead in CA. However I dunno about the CA Federal difference and if there is actually a diff in our cars. PITA really.

The folks in Scottdale AZ have been helping but it's like pullin' teeth. You have to ask and re-ask.

Oh well...

90 miles south is Cuba ? ? ? I understand there is a rapid boat service from Cuba to Mexico for about 5000 bucks for those wanting to vamos the workers paradise. A Cuban, here, told me this. Might be something to consider.

See ya Jack

I don't see it there, but I think it's available at http://www.phatg20.net

FAST is Nissan's parts lookup software, used at dealership parts counters and by car junkies worldwide!

I get " page cannot be found"

Could it be my hookup/connection, dial-up?

Thanks

Thanks, I posted the website in my bookmarks and will download lata.

Anyway I trucked my car over to the dealer today. We we weren't getting anywhere with the no-start, so I threw in the towel and broke bad.

I was toying with the idea of installing another ECM but was having problems with part numbers. Used ECM are rare for this car but I found one in CA $ 225.However I didn't buy because of the CA thing and different part numbers. Anyway I got a tip that it may be the security system causing the no-start and for that I would need to hook up to the consult, which I don't have so...I might just buy the used ECU for future purposes. It's always good to have a spare one if there is some problem in the future.

Jack
