I need a base for one of the bulbs behind my instrument cluster, one of them broke on me while trying to get the glass bulb out. i went to a nissan dealership and had a base and bulb ordered because thats the only way i can get it, and the base is wrong and doesnt work, the base i got from them is identical to the bases bought off autolumination.com, and those do not work either, the base needs to contact the circuit board on the underside which we cannot see, the ones from autolumination and the dealership are made to contact the back of the circuit board whick doesnt work. so does anyone have any of these correct bases or a correct nissan part number foe me!!? any help is greatly appreciated, 03 pathfinder SE, weird loaded package tho, doubt it makes ant difference but i have digital climate control, compas/thermometer, and (had) bose factory radio.

So I'm a little confused. When looking at the bulb/socket on CourtesyParts it shows that the socket for 96-04 being one part number. I thought that the older models used the instrument clusters that had the socket contacts on the outside of the circuit board and the newer models had the socket contacts on the inside of the circuit board (where you can't see the contacts). They list the part number as 24860-R50005 for the brown sockets and 26262-R50003 for the black sockets for all 96-04 models (besides 2004 2WD SE or 2004 w/Part Time 4WD).

You should take one of the sockets from your cluster that does work and show the parts guy at your local Nissan dealership. Just let them hold onto the socket so that they can ensure that when they order the part they have the correct socket and you don't have to drive to pick up the wrong one.

thanks for those part numbers, and i broight in one of the brown bases to show them, the brown and black bases are identical except for color, and theres a diagram i found on courtesyparts that is exactly what they showed me at the dealership, and the black base costa like 10 buks, and the brown one costs like 33 buks. thats rediculous. these bases do contact the inside of the circuit board that we cannot see. so anyway i ordered one of the bases they said would work, and it is nothing like the factory one, and they said they can only order what the computer gives as a part number, not by sight of the part. do you or anyone on this forum have any extra bases? because for now im just going to go without my highbeam indicator light, the 3 brown bases are the left and right blinker indicator and the highbeam indicator, but id like all my lights to work.

Unfortunately I don't have any extra sockets since I had to re-use all of my original sockets when I did the LED swap. I also ordered the bases from Autolumination and found out they didn't work.

well ill have to go to the dealership and gice them those part numbers and see what they come up with, i might just have them order the bases they sell for 33 buks, if its not right i can always return it, its just my luck to have a base break on me.
