First I must say.......Be nice guys its quite a complicated thing to explain.
If you have an auto start, the guys who installed it did not disable the Alarm on the auto start system. Usually the factory alarm system (keyless entry etc.) works with the auto start system. What is happening is when you lock the vehicle with the auto start key fob and then you use the factory fob to open the doors and or use the key to open the door, the auto start alarm is still on. Therefore the outside lights will blink like it would when the alarm is going off. And it stays blinking whether you have the car turned on or off. I had this happen to me a couple of years back. Now it could be vise/versa the factory alarm siren has been disabled but the blinking light portion is still active. So if you lock the car with the factory fob and unlock it with the autostart fob..... you get the idea. Some installers just disable the sirens and leave the rest of the system active. Its a quick short cut some take. Not good. What you need to do is unlock the car with the factory fob. and then put the factory fob away. (unless you have keyless start) but don't use the factory fob anymore. Just stick with the autostart fob to lock and unlock , pop the trunk, roll the windows up and down etc. What system did you get? Viper? Compustar? That should take care of the problem. Did this totally confuse you?
