Parking Lights Don't Turn On for a '97 240sx...was an Auto now an SR Manual

I was checking a plug behind the shifter and right by the power window switch for power when the parking lights come on and on the second test I saw an arc so I pulled the positive side of the multimeter out from the wire that is red with a blue stripe. After this the parking lights don't come on, the brake lights work as do the headlights just no parking lights...any ideas as I've looked at the FSM and STF without anything to go on...I can send a pic with the plug circled as I haven't looked into posting an image on this forum because of too many other commitments...thanks.

I figured it out, the fuses were dead in the driver's side kick panel even though the usual visual inspection part looked fine...
