I have a 90 240sx. Last week I was driving and when it got dark I realized that I had no gauge lights. I checked and all the tail lights/parking lights were out as well. I changed the fuse and all the lights worked for 2 days and then crapped out again. Now everytime I put in a new fuse it pops instantly. I pulled out all the parking lights, the alarm, trailer hitch wiring and still no luck.

Looking on the board here it suggests the aftermarket stereo or the TCM. The stereo has been working for since I put it in months ago. I pulled the TCM and opened it and it looks fine, nothing burnt on it. Shoud I try and replace it first? I don't know where to go from here.

after that, try putting in 30ohm fuses. they worked for me when mine kept popping because of a fog light mod

You likely have a short. It can be from any one of the many wires that are after the fuse that keeps blowing.

I would recommend against going to a higher rated fuse. The manufacturer chose that fuse for a reason. If there is a short, the higher rated fuse would probably burn out anyways. If not, and it holds, the problem is still there. The current may be too high for the wiring and either melt the wire, perhaps fusing it to another, or perhaps even starting a fire.

sure put a higher amp fuse in and watch something smoke and fry. My lights did the same thing the other night, i found it to be my parking light wire from my alarm was shorting to ground. PIST ME OFF!! I searched alll over and found that after i was bout to give up.
