My truck is a 1990 4x4 hardbody .I have had a problem with the Parkingbrakes since i got this truck they workvery little.I have replaced the rear shoes and got a spring kit for the rear brakes also.Today i finally removed the rear parking brake cable and found out that the metal cable does not move inside of the metal tube that surrounds it.I dont know if thats how it should be or is it to move anyone out there have this problem.I think what happend is the plastic coating on the cable all frayed off and is clogging the tube that houses it causing it not to funtion as a result i have almost no parking brakes.

They wear into the housing and in some areas corosion builds up in them.

Time for new ones.
