This morning when I was driving to work the parking brake light started to flicker then a few minutes later it stayed on. Seems to start flickering when I hit bumps. I parked and engaged the brake then disengaged it and the light went off only to come back on down the road.

Is this something I should worry about? Any ideas?

When you barely lift your parking brake lever, does the light come on? Or does it only come on after the first one or two clicks of the parking brake lever?

If it's coming on as soon as you touch the lever, the parking brake could just need an adjustment: page BR-31 of http://www.nicoclub.com/FSM/pathfinder/2001/br.pdf

Check the brake fluid level.

When you hit a bump and the fluid is low the sensor trips and turns on the light.

How long since the pads were replaced?

Had my brakes done a few months ago. Also I noticed that when I slightly move the lever it affects the light. Ill try the adjustment procedure.
