And it's pissing me of. There is no difference on the dashboard between parking lights and headlights. I'm starring at the left switcher to see what lights are on everytime. Due to my memory lack i can find myself driving with parking lights on in a middle of a night. Checking the lewer at this conditions (night time, average speed and tension because of megapolis traffic) is very unconfortable! So im looking for ideas and tips to change the current situation. My idea is to make a difference in voltage. Lower the electrical tension on the light icon for parking lights mode so the less bright as the result.Second idea is to set up 2 colored LEDs there.

You can't tell the difference between parking and headlights? At night?

No offense, but that's kind of a night and day difference. I can tell the difference between the two in broad daylight inside a parking garage. Headlights you can see for quite some distance, especially reflection off of objects. You have to be at point-blank range to see reflection off of parking lights, and hence why I usually use full headlights when parking.

Also, why would you be switching to parking lights instead of going straight for the headlights when you turn them on?

No, i can't. Cuz im driving in the city with street lamps you can't see a vehicle with no headlights on it though. City light and light from cars moving on incoming direction is stronger than versa's headlights so i cant discern my own lights on the road.

I drive in the city and I can tell when my lights are on.

Make sure you turn on your headlights when you get in the car and you wont have to worry about whether or not they are on.

Firstly: Strasveychey, Denis!

I think you're the first Russian who's signed up for the Versa forum.

I usually don't leave my lights are the 'parking lights' section for the same reasons (like at dusk) so I just turn them all the way on... The ways I've coped to remind myself when my lights aren't on (dimming the dash setting so it is dimmer when the lights are on and looking at the lighting on my HVAC controls) doesn't work to distinguish between 'parking lights' and 'head lights'... Good luck working on your own solution...

Now for questions!!Is it a Tiida or Versa in Russia? What options do you have on your V?

p.s. your English is very good, are you not a native?

I'm having a hard time with this one, as well, since it is painfully clear to me when the headlights are on. That's probably why the 'colored LED' idea you mentioned hasn't been implemented (except maybe in rare instances). Even when driving in the city, between street lights it should be apparent.

Plus, why use the parking lights? Just get in, flip on the headlights and drive. No worries, no confusion. I'm really perplexed as to why this is such an issue.

The reason i change headlights to parking lights is in pedestrians, especially those with baby strollers or children on thier 2 own - car's lights are on the same level with thier eyes so i dont wanna think i may blind them It blinds even adults. So I am with parking lights when parked at the roadborder.

My finger may hit the cap accidentally and change the light when i move the lever up to make the right turn signal. Dont say it never happened to you

KimberKenobiGreetings!Let me correct you: "Zdrav - stvui - te"Im native. It's Tiida here.We have 3 packages selling here: Comfort, Elegance and Tekna.

Comfort: 1.6 - 110hp - 5MT or 4AT - CD player with 4 speakers (No MP3) - manual keys - manual a/c - tricot cloth seats - 15" steel wheels

Elegance: 1.6 (1.8) - 110 (126 hp) - 5MT or 4AT (6MT) - CD player with 6 speakers (No MP3) - remote Intelligent keys - climate control - woven cloth seats - 15" aluminum-alloy wheels+ side-impact supplemental air bags for head + rain and sun sensors + pockets, gloves light, armrests + trip computer + digital clock + fog lights + sidemirrors and windows with electrical remote

Prices: $ 21.000 - 24.000

And some people meets the same problems as versa has: brake pedal vibration, wire disconnection from the fueldoor release lever, absolutely stupid wheel parameters, washer nozzle takes too much fluid on headlights.Outside temperature is on the trip computer always flashes when its lower than +3° Celcius....... 5 months in year (6-7 for northern regions)

You'll have to pardon me, it's been ... almost 10 years since my last instruction in Russian... (But I think I still pronounce all the stuff I've retained properly... ;oD)

If you guys get pretty much the Japanese Tiida Lite (which is what it sounds like) then you guys probably have the HID lights?

From my understanding, Moscow is very different from most US cities and the cars have different standards for 'safe' in terms of lighting... It is possible that the way that Moscow is lit and the way the headlights are aimed/lighted could cause a problem in Moscow that isn't apparent in the states. There were some places in Paris where I got blinded quite often at night by motorists. I haven't had that problem as much in Louisville or Lexington and I have to assume that it is due to regulations on vehicle light aiming and lighting that we have here (that most people conform to).
