I just got recently a Pathfinder 2001, works just fine but yesterday as i try to use it noticed the dasboard light doesn't turn on when i turn on the headlights as well as the parking lights (yelloq front and red rear) the headlights and the stop lights work fine and the reverse lights too, seems to a minor problem, any ideas what i should check up? ... i try the fuse box but i am kind of lost

Is the dimmer switch at maximum? Do the A/C controls, window switches, shifter controls, glovebox, ashtray light? Check ROOM LAMP fuse:

It's possible that both of your front parking light bulbs are dead - do the rear parking lamps (in the taillights) work? If so, your bulbs are probably dead.

Out of curiosity, how many miles are on your Pathfinder, and what is the manufacturing date?

Hi Towncivilian
Thanks for the reply ,

Is a 2001 LE 4x2 with 43300 miles on it, in excellent shape, the only missing parts were the jack and tools (already got one set ... for 50 dlls) and the owners manual but downloaded it also.Is a 2001 LE 4x2 with 43300 miles on it, in excellent shape, the only missing parts were the jack and tools (already got one set ... for 50 dlls) and the owners manual but downloaded it also.

It had a burned tail bulb so i bought new ones and replaced them by pairs, tail-brake, hazard lights, license bulbs (one was missing) and put two new head lamps, this way i keep a spares inside the car (got used to this as in Germany where i leved for a couple pf years having a burned bulb is not a police-fine but not having the spares is (in case the police stops you for this reason)

the tail lights as well as the license plate and the front quarters are not working with the dasboard, the head lamps work and all the electrical system works fine, reading in the forum seems like a tail-light rely, what do you think? I already check all the fuses and they are fine.

... by the way what tires do you recommend? this are still ok but soon, this year will get new oness, i mostly drive highway, rainy season but not snow and some not paved roads but not off-road.

Talk about short term memory loss. I thought i was bad with that. Anyway. My dumb a** did exactly what TownCivilian said to check first. I caught hell at work for a week when the crew found that out.

hello

i decided to call the car-electrician. so the problem was a bad installed bulb, my fault and a small short circuit, so he fix the tail lamp rely and checked some terminals and voila! ... so now i know i have to be more careful with this kind of bulbs, they are a little flimsy as they don't have a platic o metal base.

the good news for me is that there was no more damages and that prices here in Mexico City are really reasonable, 20 dollars with home visit repair and a fuse pliers (not new).
