Park51 and Islam in America

The best ally in the struggle against violent Islamism is moderate Islam. The unfounded attacks on the backers of Park51 and others, along with such sideshows as a pastor calling for the burning of Korans, give substance to the Al Qaeda argument that the U.S. is waging a war against Islam, rather than against the terrorists’ misshapen effigy of that religion. Those stirring the pot in this debate are casting a spell that is far more dangerous than they may imagine.

With that said, both sides are now guilty of being a$$. That last sentence sounds ominous, even threatening. Americans don't like threats. The New Yorker is sensationalizing just like Fox and MSNBC.

The damn thing is legal. STFU and build it, and quit ramming it down people's throats - even the "misinformed", "ignorant", and "racist" among us.

the author, Lawrence Wright, may be the only person in the Western world who actually understands Islamic Terrorism. He wrote the highly acclaimed "The Looming Tower" and has been asked on several occasions to brief the FBI and CIA about their counter terrorism policies. If his statements sound like threats, maybe then they are threats. What is America going to do about it?

Shotgun, rock salt....death by rock salt. Anyone that scurries off the "field" gets the flame thrower. Death from a far is to good for extremists. Damn good idea though
