What are you not understanding? This is private property. You can not park on a sidewalk on PUBLIC property. This is PRIVATE property.

People looked at the store front more often. Marketing research shows that if you can get your sign right in front of a consumer's face they are more inclined to purchase.

and what are you not understanding? private property, or not, you aren't legally allowed to park on the sidewalk. especially not a sidewalk that serves the public. the owner allowed you to park there out of niceness and the hope that nothing bad would happen. something did happen and now she's rescinding her word to avoid future legal issues that she would incur for being nice to you. now there's only one thing to do, quityerb****in and park in the lot like everyone else.

Oh, I understand completely, it seems you are the confused one.

1. The owner of that private property TOLD you can no longer park on the sidewalk. That's pretty dang clear.

2. Store parking lots are also considered "private property", yet you canstill get ticketed for parked illegally (eg. parking in a handicapped spotwithout a permit). Parking a registered motor vehicle on a sidewalk is also considered illegal parking.

Quote:People looked at the store front more often. Marketing research shows that if you can get your sign right in front of a consumer's face they are more inclined to purchase.

I agree with your marketing statement, but if anything your motorcyclewas not only blocking the view of the store front, it created a safety hazard (when it was hot), it could also get knocked over and injure someone. If you honestly believe that people are going jump out of their cars just to look over your bike, and then say, "Wow, I need to go into that computer store because there's a yellow motorcycle in front of it!", then you're delusional.

Doesn't matter if the kid was dumb for touching it. I agree with you, he was. But the bottom line is the mom complained about where you parked it. The owner of the property agreed, and now you have to move it. It's a closed issue. At this point, whining about is not going to change anything. You still have to park it in the parking lot like everyone else. Sorry.

Please provide resources for this information.

Private property with a sidewalk on it that people have access to is not for the usage of the "public". It is for the usage of the patrons of the shops.

Motorcycles are required to be parked legally.

Parking lots are not, as a rule, subject to parking law restrictions and enforcement by law enforcement officers. The only exceptions are those which are deemed public property or have dedicated streets for the purposes of enforcement and Disabled Parking restrictions.
very gray area.. my guess is if the owner of the lot complained that you parked there, they could have you cited.

Personally, I've never parked my motorcycle on the sidewalk, for the reason alone that has happened to PMQ. I don't want anyone near my bike.

Neither of the conditions stated apply to this parking lot.

The only reason I park there is the elements. I never had a problem before this

Since you're obviously right, why don't you go ahead and keep parking there? Who cares what anyone here says, just do it and let us know the outcome.

Hehe, funny.

I'll follow what the owner said to do. They're trying to protect themselves, I understand that.

I was just bitc*ing about the parent complaining...

So, let me get this straight. The mom actually followed this up by not only mentioning it to the owner of the karate school, who I'm sure said they would talk to your business, but also taking the extra effort to look up and call the owner of the property just to b**** about how her son burned himself? Regardless of any other issues, this is pretty over the top.

If I was said owner, my response would have gone about like this, "So, your son touched the exhaust pipe of an engine and got burned, did you try to stop him? Could this have happened if you were walking past the bike in the parking lot?" I mean honestly, from a legal perspective, I probably would have also asked you not to park there, but I would have made that lady feel stupid about it.

property owner has a lot more to lose than you do right now. she took the civil route by being nice to the mother and telling you to park like every other normal human being.

This reminds me of my younger years when I would do blow off hookers' *sses. I had this sweet hooker who I always used for this purpose. But, one day she just decided she didn't want that life anymore (trying to go straight I assume?) and I was left with only a few options:

1. Keep doing doing lines off the slut (but this might get me in trouble if she called the cops)2. Go straight but then b*tch and moan about it on the net (seemed kinda lame to me)3. Find a new hooker to continue doing bad things to4. Go straight with no complaining

2 of those kinda suck, don't you agree?

New idea. Call CPS on the mother for neglect, as her inattention allowed her child to severely burn himself on a motorcycle.

You should electrify the exhaust too, maybe kill a few kids, that'd teach 'em.

Absolutely positively no sarcasm.

Empty V wrote:Parents are retards these days. Some idiot high school kid flipped his truck and died down the street from my parent's house doing 75 in a 35. The mom of the kid decided that it was the street's fault and had stop signs and a bike lane put in to "narrow the road." For the last 35 years the street has functioned perfectly to plan and now when pulling up to it you have to turn your head 270* because of this bullsh!t stop sign that used to be a yield.

I got pulled over blowing the stop sign(in protest) and I knew the cop. I asked him if he knew why the stop sign was there and we both agreed it was BS. Needless to say I didn't get a ticket.
I hate that crap, we used to have like 2 stop signs down a mile long road, with the rest of the stop signs being on the cross roads. Then some people move into the neighborhood and complain about dangerous drivers and that their child is going to get hit and writes up a petition and now we have a stop sign on every single block. Such a pain in the a**.
