This will be the first posting I have seen for a possible brake problem. About a month ago some idiot pulled in front of me from a side road while traveling about 65 mph. I pulled a "panic brake" slowdown to give enough room and not do a "number" on the front. Lucky reacted by suddenly veering to the left, but not enough to go into the on-coming lane.

This has happened a couple more times since, once for my wife, at 55 mph or higher. TP check showed pressure where it is supposed to be. The V went to the dealer today for the 2nd oil change at 4,900 miles and a brake/road check. Naturally, they could not duplicate my experience stating it was probably a "dynamic braking" problem. They define this as trying to climb to the road crown. All of my previous cars dove during panic braking.

Any comments?

ps at 4,900 miles my cumulative mpg is 30.4 since purchase on Labor Day. This is about 85-90 % city driving.

That's interesting. My friend did a panic stop in her versa with me in the car and it didn't veer off in any direction. Maybe your right front caliper is frozen? If you can, check it out or have the dealer check it out or something.

I haven't noticed any veering. But mine fishtails during a panic stop. Add that to the terribly long stopping distance, and you've got a scary experience.

Agreed... you may be the first to experience "veering", specifically. Fishtailing is sadly pretty common... mine suffered from it as well.
