I was on Ebay and saw the Panasonic CQ-TX5500W and was wondering if anyone knows how good this unit really is.

I would hate to be in the passenger seat of that BMW during a collision.....that pre-amp would do a number on your knees !!!!!

I'm not digging it from a cosmetic standpoint... I'd rather have a Pioneer double-din touch screen with NAV. They also have infinitely adjustable backlighting, so that you can get it to match up with the rest of the car's interior...

I would think it would be a theft magnet!!!!! One of the reasons I like to keep it stock, and never leave valuables in plain sight {remove radar detector from view when parked, etc}
