OK. New tires, fresh oil, ATF changed 20K ago, new timing belt, water pump, thermostat, belts, hoses, recently flushed cooling system, battery topped off, new wipers, syn blend in the differential, new spark plugs, oil pressure sensor. Good to GO! The mission? To spot naturally occuring palm trees and salt water.

Hmmm... Florida? SoCal? South Texas?

I can get to palm trees -- or at least "palmetto trees" -- in 3 hours, or sugary white sand in 5 hours.

:D

The J30t is running like a true champ. Mountains to beaches, this car is great.:)

The J30t is a wonderful automobile. Driving this car is a privlege. On twisty Rte. 441 through Great Smokey Mountains National Park, we had the road to overselves for 10 minutes at a time. The road surface was greasy due do the previous days rain but it was sunny when we drove it. I coudn't drive full out but the new tires were great. There were, however, a few dry sunlit switchbacks and corkscrews that were exillerating!

Laid a couple of nice viscous LSD patches on the beach at Vilano Beach, FL.

Cruised at 3000 rpm for long streches of Interstate. Passed traffic on double laners.

Made emergency corrections.

Chipped the windshield following a gravel truck.

Atlanta traffic is slower than Chicago.

South Carolina drivers are the best at keeping right, signaling and just general use of the interstate.

I-95 is stupid.

Highest sustained speed 95 mph.:(

No speeding tickets.:)

24 mpg average est. (still have to crunch the numbers)

Priceline.com can be a great tool for scoring great rooms a day in advance.

"Rough Guide" travel guide is extrememly useful.

65 degrees on Cocoa Beach with no clouds and no wind is downright perfect.

Tired of driving but still looking forward to getting back into the J30t.

You saw a turn signal in SC?? Must have been on when he bought the car and just couldn't figure out how to turn the thing off... :pface Glad you had a good trip! Maybe your comprehensive insurance will hook you up with a shiny new windshield for your troubles!

"Atlanta traffic is slower than Chicago."

Chicago drivers are aggressive and crazy. One time I was on the Tri-State, parked in bumper to bumper traffice watching the lane to my left when this guy plows into stopped traffic. He was trying to cut infront of me. (I was stopped?)

Actually, I-95 S gets a lot better after the Orlando turn off to I-4 (?). Through SC and GA there are so many RVs and trucks on 2 lane stretches that driving is stupid. All you need is for a couple of numbnuts ignorantly abusing the left lane and suddenly all traffic is slowed to 55 mph for miles and miles.
