I agree.

Though, he's a rather uninteresting guy, so no one pays attention.

I think she is a post turtle?

I saw this on dailykos and thought I'd share it here. What a great site that is

-----------------------------------------------------------------

"While suturing a cut on the hand of a 75 year old rancher, who's hand was caught in the gate while working cattle, the doctor struck up a conversation with the old man. Eventually the topic got around to Palin and her bid.

The old rancher said, "Well, ya know, Palin is a Post Turtle'".

Not being familiar with the term, the doctor asked him what a 'post turtle' was.

The old rancher said, "When you're driving down a country road you come across a fence post with a turtle balanced on top, that's a 'post turtle".

The old rancher saw the puzzled look on the doctor's face so he continued to explain. "You know she didn't get up there by herself, she doesn't belong up there, and she doesn't know what to do while she's up there, and you just wonder what kind of dummy put her up there to begin with".

LMAO!

Ok, hey I gotta say, that's a good one!

'Cept, nobody put Plain in the Governor's chair. She did that all by her lonesome. Nobody but Sarah got the most powerful Republican in Alaska booted off the energy board.

But as a VP candidate, yep, most certainly a post turtle. (I gotta remember that one - LOVE IT )

Wow, that is SO ORIGINAL!!!!

I saw the exact same story two weeks ago concerning Congress as a whole. Seems your team at DailyKos can't come up with an original thought so they steal others.....

The new right wing talking point:

Pressing Palin for answers is always a "gotchya question".

Previous talking point was that if you criticized her at all, you were a sexist.

The polls show that people are getting tired of the stench of the bullcrap "Straight Talk".

Maybe, maybe not. There was more to the interview than was aired and I've heard via radio the way Couric was trying to trap her on the abortion and religious issue. IMO most news reporters have been out to get some sensationalist quote from her and I could understand why she would get irritated after 5 weeks of getting pounded on somewhat unfairly.

It does seem to be a viable excuse unless you think she was faking being dumb simply so she could show up Biden a week later.

She didn't show Biden up. At worst, it was even. Biden could have smoked her, but the ploy that you guys have been duped by worked. Whine about sexism, play the victim of the "liberal MSM" so that nobody can attack her directly.

She was just as lame in the debates as in her interviews. The only difference in the debate was that she forced everything to lead to her memorized talking points and deflected everything away to the so-called "Maverick" and her folksiness.

Like I've said, the issue, if there is one, is not that Palin is under pressure from the media, it's that that the media is not being equally critical of the Dems. It's the media's job to be attack dogs rather than lap dogs.

I read an interesting article about Palin's debate performance yesterday evening (Wash Post).

Of course, it's an admittedly liberal paper, but it wasn't really a slam on her so much as just an analysis, using poll date, of her strategy.

Apparently, her comment about "not answering the questions the way the moderator wants, and just talking straight to the American people" was construed, even by many conservative viewers, as an intentional dodge.

Obviously, ALL candidates dodge questions in debates, even the best debaters, and Palin isn't somehow uniquely deficient here. It was more HOW she did it. Apparently her "open and honest" dodge didn't go over as well with viewers as a more subtle one. This probably means that we won't see McCain trying the same approach, and instead he'll continue to dodge questions the same say he, Obama, Biden, and most other politicians do (with artfully worded long-winded responses).

I really thought the comment might work, honestly, so I was a little surprised. When she said it, I really didn't chalk it up as a negative, I thought it was straightforward and ballsy. I still don't like her, but I still gave her points for that particular move. Apparently most viewers disagree. Go figure.
