Ok so since I've gotten my ride (01 pathy) I've been doing some things to it, for example- new front and rear brush guards,blacked out head lights, new sound system, new rims and tires... you get the point. Now as far as the body goes it just needs a good compound and all the minor stuff should go away. the parts i had re-painted was the rear driver flare and rear bumper. When i got the car back i noticed right away that the paint didn't match. I spoke with the gentleman who did the work and he said "one of the hardest colors to match is white, with your car its a three step process as far as paint goes. Pearl is a tricky color. the reason why it looks different is that the rest of your car is 10 years old and these parts are now brand new. The clear coat on the paint over the years will get a yellow tinge to it thus creating the mis match. but this is the correct paint" Knowing the kind of cars he works on i trusted him. But today i was getting the car detailed and the guy told me that "yeah i understand what your body shop guy was saying, and it does make sense.BUT this is not the same white. it doesn't look pearl white. it just looks white". that being said i wanted to know if anyone had a similar issue with there pearl white . sorry for the long story

Can't comment on pearl white, but it gives me an excuse to post this;

This is how the body shop returned the Pathy to me the first time.

Check out the different shades of hood and fender green.

Now it's all better.

Those guys too said that paint discolors over time... yada yada, and yet they somehow ended up getting the match perfect the next time.

seeing as i used twork the by shopfield i can see where the body man is coming from. there are a few things he could have done... first off.. he could have tested it off the wax paper like any smart individual would. secondly finding out it isnt the same, could have adjusted his mix accordingly. and third... cut polish that b****.

you have to make sure they use PPG brand paint... because you can order using the correct paint code in a different brand, and the paint will look different....
