painting z32 calipers...

I am painting the calipers black, and sanding the paint off the NISSAN letters to make them silver. Is it necessary to paint the letters as well? Will they rust if I just leave them?

if its bare metal it will rust, so yeah id paint it.

The calipers are unpainted in the first place. Here what you do, buy some Dupli-Color high temp caliper paint. you can either tape off the letters or sand them. I would try a bit of both. Dont worry about painting the letters, it wouldnt rust if its oem unpainted so why would it now?

well thats assuming that the calipers are made of iron, if they are the aluminum calipers then no they wont, but iron will and pretty fast also

Dont worry about it. My friend only painted the calipers and not the letter and there doin fine.

i think the letters have a finish to them too in the AL version....Maybe they are anodized?

I painted mine black with caliper paint and sanded of the letters. No rust yet. 2 years and going strong.
