yeah, i heard about the mother's stuff but the problem is the moldings are not smooth anymore. its sanding down on certain areas and looks like a rough knife scraped pieces off. i was thinking of taking them off, sanding them smooth, then primer, paint, sand. but i don't wanna make it worse u know what i mean.

sand them smoove...

then go str8 to paint!

Fusion FTW!

Ckick on me fo more info about krylon's fusion paint

it says no sanding/priming needed, but if it's that "rough" i'd sand away...

if they are so bad, then get new ones...i absolutly love seeing people with a really nice looking car some **** outta place but nothing too bad, and the car leaks when it rains, or it smoked like a chimney when you turn it on. fix your problems and dont paint your problems away

mine have scratches also like you described and I have 60-1500 grit sandpaper all over the place cause I'm going to paint my car black soon ... I'm goin to try and sand them down and then hit them up with a spray can I suppose or somethin and see how it turns out ... I think I'm going to do it when I get home today so yeah, do you know how to take them off the car? I've never really looked or needed to. is it simple?

its easy. the one on the door has one small screw. then pull it back and lift up. it will pop out of place. the one on top, after you remove the rubber molding, it has a bunch of screws that go straight up into the roof. just unscrew and it falls right off. as far as the quarter panel window, that i didnt take off. i think you might have to remove the how window because it is sealed to the window.

Hey Man....is all in the FSm, if they are brittle, be careful or they will break....You can use regular paint, (Rustoleum) gloss works fine and is very shiny. I done many black plastic parts with it and they look good. My car is exposed to hot weather and it seems like the paint holds better when it comes to hot weather. never try the Fusion one, but I guess is worth a try......

just tried some of that back to black stuff. that stuff is worth the 7 bucks. might still sand down some parts to smooth it out.
